Peace Arch

Dowse Art Gallery
Illustration
2019 / Storybox
The peace arch was designed to help commemorate the 100th anniversary of the 1919 Peace Celebrations on Jackson St, Petone.

The design needed to represent the time from when it first was erected to now. It was important to respectfully honour the past but give it a modern colourful touch as the centrepiece of the commemoration.

I was the main designer and illustrator on this project and oversaw the implementation and overall look. I was inspired by the amazing works of William Morris and our native flora and fauna in New Zealand.
